1 – Why is it important to speed up WordPress sites?
First of all, it is important to speed up WordPress websites because no one can stand browsing slow and heavy websites.
So, having a fast website is a must for anyone who wants to provide a good user experience on their website.
Secondly, loading speed is a ranking factor for Google. Therefore, if you invest in SEO and want to be competitive in searches, your website should load in the blink of an eye.
2 – What are the main steps that should be taken in WordPress to ensure faster websites?
The platform doesn't come with many native optimization options, so it all depends on the hosting , theme and plugins you use.
Truly speeding up a website requires some experience in the field, so consulting an expert is the best thing to do.
But following the recommendations, it is mandatory to have a cache plugin (especially if you use FastCGI from the NGINX server itself, because this way there is no PHP request for each visit, which makes everything much faster).
Furthermore, “multi-purpose” themes that use page builders like Elementor are extremely heavy and make true optimization practically impossible.
The ideal is to have a theme made “from scratch” according to what you really need.
3 – What are the main plugins that can help companies in this regard? Why?
The golden tip for having a fast WordPress website is not to install optimization plugins without knowing what you are doing, because this can have the opposite effect.
