Yandex has a service called Yandex.Metrica, which calculates the affinity index of users of the required site by interests. The service is free. With its help, you can forecast and increase sales, see who visits your site most often. Leave a request in the appropriate section, and soon the affinity index will appear in the "Reports".

You can also use the Yandex.Metrica report to analyze how effective advertising is. When selecting an additional platform for placing an advertising banner, find out the data on the advertiser's nursing homes email list website. If the interests of your target audience are in the top five on their website, then it makes sense to use the platform in question.

Important point! Please note that Yandex.Metrica data on the affinity index will be applicable in the case if the selected interest exceeds the others by 2-3 times.

Formula for calculating the affinity index
In this section, we will look at the formula by which we can calculate the affinity index and find out whether the target audience or advertising channel is suitable for our product.

Affinity Index = (Target Audience Rating / Base Audience Rating) * 100

The target audience can be defined by different criteria. Gender, age, interests, geographic location, etc. For example, if your target audience is young people under 30, then you can calculate the affinity index by substituting the number of people of the required age and the number of all people for all advertising channels into the formula.

An index greater than 120% indicates that the required contingent is encountered much more often on this platform than on others. A compliance rating of 80% to 120% means that the audience is mixed, and a value below 80% is a low indicator, indicating that the platform or channel being studied will not suit your purposes.

Find out how
Let's look at an even more detailed example. Let's say you run a blog about baby education, and you also sell related products through it. You have 1,300 subscribers, of which 900 are women and 400 are men. There are 12,000,000 users in the entire network, of which 2,760,000 are men. Substitute this into the formula and you get the following:

((400 / 1300) / (2,760,000 / 12,000,000)) * 100 = 134%.

There are 9,240,000 women in the social network being described. Then the indicator for them will be as follows:

((900 / 1300) / (9,240,000 / 12,000,000)) * 100 = 89%.

The affinity index for men in our example turned out to be higher because male users are in the minority in social networks. However, the indicator for subscribers to the blog in question is high, which means that in order to increase sales efficiency, as well as to retain and increase the audience, this must be taken into account when choosing topics and products.
