As last year, fake news remains a concern

The desire to take back control of one's destiny has led to a renewed interest in current events and a significant increase in engagement with the news of 22 points. This trend is quite surprising given the results of the 2018 Barometer which showed that interest in news was at its lowest. while almost half of respondents said they consumed news less than once a week last year, only 28% of respondents did so in 2019. 40% of respondents not only consume news once a week or more, but they also systematically amplify it (+14 points vs 2018).

In this context of desire for change, 75% of people trust "my employer", i.e. 27 points more than the public authorities at 48% or the media at 47%.
