WordPress 5.5 introduces the new Blocks Directory . These are just WordPress plugins that add new blocks to the block editor, and there are already dozens of new blocks available.
The block directory is also integrated into the “Add New Block” search. You can simply search for a feature and if there is no block that matches your search, then matching results from the block directory will automatically be displayed.

The blocks directory contains individual blocks. It does not contain the block library plugins , which come with several useful blocks you can install.
