Recently, attacks and hacking of Instagram and Facebook profiles have become more common. Simply put, hackers have realized that your entire business depends on your profile , which is certainly not good, but I will write about that in another article.

How do they steal your data?
Phishing is a technique that gets its name from the word fishing. They simply throw you the bait and wait for you to fall for it. In the past, these scams mostly went through email addresses, you already received them and you were ready for them. Now a new way has emerged.

Direct messages.
Since there was a whole fuss about copyright , so much so that none of us are quite sure that they haven't violated it in at least one post, they came up with this scam:

They create a profile and call it copyright.helpcenter or shareholder database similar, and from that profile they send you a message with the following content: You have violated copyright and if you do not confirm your access data, your account will be terminated within 48 hours.

Example of a message that came to me
After that, they send you to their website , which looks very similar to Instagram. They will ask you to enter your username and password, and then confirm your email, that is, to give them access to your email. Or they will ask you to confirm the following message that you will receive from Instagram.

Once you do all of this, they will have your information and will be able to do whatever they want with your account.

How to recognize a fake link?
Instagram and Facebook will never send you messages that are "From someone" but will send you messages directly in the app. They will rarely send you links. If they do, they will be very short links.
