Do you know what a Web Designer does? What goes into creating a website? UX, UI, responsive design, readability, contrast… and so on. I’ll talk a little bit about it here.

I have been a web designer for over a decade and I also have some knowledge of graphic design, such as creating logos, and even advertising design, which was my training.

I'm also a front-end developer, WordPress pakistan number dataset and I provide hosting consultancy. But today I'm going to talk about just one area: Web Design!

What does a Web Designer do?

In the classic definition, a web designer works on creating websites. Some specialize in Digital Design, which is quite different from Graphic Design . Others specialize in Front-End development , which is not programming .

And there are those who do both, which is my case.

In general, a web interface designer needs to have knowledge of front-end development and vice versa, so it is common to find people who perform both tasks.

Web Design and Web Designer are different things
Many people don't know this. You've probably seen someone swap the terms around.

In short, Web Design is the profession and Web Designer is the professional.

Web Design is a branch of graphic design that defines printed works such as posters, book covers and logos. Web Design focuses on creation for the internet, such as websites and applications.

Web Designer is a professional who specializes in Web Design. In other words, they are responsible for creating designs for the web, as explained above. A Web Designer needs to have specific knowledge of Internet design, which is very different from print design.

10 Things a Web Designer Does
Design for the internet (i.e. no printed material) such as creating websites, apps and other examples that I will mention below;
Visual identity and logos , which are not exclusive to graphic designers. The difference is that a web designer usually creates logos that will only be used on the internet, such as logos for apps.
UX and UI , web design concepts that are not just the focus of designers, but of the entire team responsible for creation and development;
Wireframing and prototyping of interfaces, from simple websites to apps with different types of user interaction;
Layouts in general, which represent the visual part of an online project. Layouts, when ready and approved, are “sliced” and converted into front-end and back-end code, which is the process of developing the website or application;
Marketing pieces such as promotional banners, email marketing pieces, images for social networks, etc.;
Icons and symbols used in the project structure or in the promotion and identity itself, such as app icons;
Animations , usually with GIF or SVG. It depends on the knowledge of the Web Designer, since flash animations have been obsolete for a long time and animations for the internet require knowledge of JavaScript;
Front-end , which also depends on the professional's knowledge and focus. This is my case, as I have a degree in design and am self-taught in front-end development;
Maintenance on digital projects, which involves everything mentioned above in the form of adjustments, corrections and updates.
