Before leaving office, Biden is trying to increase pressure on Russia and provide aid to Ukraine.

Earlier, the Biden administration announced the final tranche of military aid to Ukraine, worth about 500 million.

Then on January 10th local time, the United States announced a new round of sanctions on the Russian economy.

The sanctions target Russian oil producers, tankers, middlemen, traders and ports. Among them are Gazprom and Surgutneftegaz and their subsidiaries, more than 180 tankers, and more than a dozen

The sanctions are reportedly the toughest measures yet against indonesia telegram data Russia's energy sector, aimed at cutting off Russia's main source of funding for the conflict with Ukraine.

The new measures also include a blockade of several energy-related entities and restrictions on Russia's access to dollar revenues from energy exports.

On the same day, the UK also imposed sanctions on Russia's two major oil giants, Gazprom and Surgutneftegaz.

Japan has also recently expanded its sanctions list against Russia due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, including 11 individuals, 29 legal entities and 3 banks.

Separately, Japan's cabinet approved a blanket export ban on 22 Russian organizations, including those related to the military and machinery manufacturers.

There is no doubt that the increased sanctions from the United States, Britain, Japan and other countries will put tremendous pressure on the Russian economy and will also set off an energy storm in the global market.
