Strikes escalate


On December 20th local time, the Starbucks Workers Union usa phone number list announced a strike in multiple cities in the United States to protest Starbucks' unfair labor practices and low wages. The fiveday strike began on Friday and closed Starbucks stores in Los Angeles, Chicago and Seattle.

According to the statement, the representatives expressed their willingness to return to the negotiating table to resolve relevant issues.

Baldwin, the Philadelphia barista and negotiator, said Starbucks needs to invest in the baristas who support its operations.

My hourly wage is now $16.5, but the company announced that it will only increase my salary by 2.5% next year, which means only $0.4 per hour, not even enough to pay for a cup of Starbucks.
According to the union, 98% of its members voted in favor of a strike resolution on the 17th to demonstrate their determination to protest "hundreds of unresolved unfair labor charges." The United Starbucks Workers Union currently represents employees at more than 500 stores in the United States.

Union President Fox said, "While Starbucks claims to value all employees, we cannot accept wages that effectively invest in baristas and fail to address hundreds of unfair labor issues."
