Tips for the proper use of your brand's social networks

Post by shukla7789 »

A post with tips for the proper use of social media in the company? Is it really necessary? Yes, because after several years in which the use of social media has become widespread, I continue to find companies that make the same mistakes over and over again. Mistakes that, in the case of brands, can mean a major setback to their online reputation . Here I put my little grain of sand so that you know how to do things right.

Recommendations for the proper use of social networks
Be active
Signing up for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn… is just the first step. A first step that is of no use if you then abandon all those social media profiles and update them only once a month or once a year.

It's like the old joke that to get fit you don't just have to job seekers database the gym, you have to go every now and then. Seriously, post at least a couple of times a week (frequency varies depending on the network, on Twitter it should be much more). I always say, for a company it is better not to have social media profiles than to have them abandoned.

Difference between personal and professional
This goes for social networks like Facebook and Google Plus that allow you to have personal profiles and company pages. I see many companies that use a personal profile (with the company name) to promote themselves instead of creating a company page, which is what they are for. The worst that can happen is that they close your profile for non-compliance with the rules (profiles must be associated with people and not companies).

The solution is clear, if the social network supports company pages, that is the formula you should use for your business.

Don't use social media for SPAM
It is true that social media can (and should) be used to promote your business, but don't overuse it. What I mean is that you can't spend all day advertising yourself because you'll overwhelm your followers, who will end up abandoning you.

To avoid this, alternate promotional posts with other content that you think might be of interest to your audience. For example, if you sell sports shoes, post running tips from time to time.

Don't look for followers at any price
Although they can basically be grouped into two types: good and bad. The good ones are those that get followers through word of mouth and publishing quality content. The bad ones resort to buying or exchanging followers, like I give you a like and you give it back to me.
