If you are not going to replace or change certain parts or elements immediately, you should define the need for action here. For example: Perhaps your profile photos are out of date, but you need to have new ones taken first. Or you want the RSS feed of your blog, which you are yet to create, to be automatically imported into XING as soon as it is available in a few months. Enter everything here that you do not want to forget, and only file the list as completed when everything has been done.
Next Check
Here is the next date for your regular social media check. This also belongs in your project calendar.
Comments/Miscellaneous
Here you can write down anything else you need to help you find your way around next time. You may also want to leave notes for other employees here.
The social media check is just the beginning
As already explained above, such a table can only be a start and an initial aid. It can provide suggestions and ensure that nothing is forgotten. Please design it in a way that suits your strategy and your processes.
Especially if you manage your social networks as part of a team, you need powerful, interactive tools. But even if you manage your accounts alone, you should at least think about such options. For smaller companies, it is worth taking a look at tools such as Trello or Asana , the basic versions of which are free to use.
Larger companies usually already have the appropriate bc data platforms and intranet solutions – and if not, it's about time! But this is a topic in itself, which I want to deal with in more detail elsewhere.
Expected further results of the social media check
Working with the different strategies will show you more than just an overview of your accounts. For example, you will find out...
… whether you should revise your entire communication concept in whole or in part.
… whether there is a need for action regarding scheduling and task distribution.
… whether you want to expand, add to or reduce individual accounts .
… whether you should redistribute your (time) budgets for maintaining profiles or calculate them differently.
… whether the revision of content and messages shows that fundamental – possibly even business-related – changes are imminent.
It's all a question of working on the overall communication. You will continue to receive suggestions from me on how to plan and implement this strategically - here in the PR Doctor, in my videos and on social networks.
