Before a user clicks on a link, they must hover over the link. If a user has hovered over the link for 65 ms (a very short period of time), one in two users will actually click on the link.

The Instant.page script starts preloading the page at that moment, so that by the time the user actually clicks on the link, much of the heavy lifting has already been done. This causes the human brain to perceive a website's loading time as almost instantaneous.

This script is pretty awesome, I highly recommend visiting the website and clicking the “Test your clicking speed” button to see how it tricks the brain.

Update: I have disabled instant.page for now and list of italy cell phone number will be testing the FlyingPages plugin in the near future . Gijo Varghese shared his new plugin with me in the WPBeginner Engage Facebook group , and it seems to combine the best of instant.page and quicklink script.

Optimizing images for the web

While new image formats like webp are being developed, we don't use them yet. Instead, we ask all our authors to optimize each image using the TinyPNG tool .

You can also automate image compression with plugins like Optimole or EWWW Image Optimizer .

However, I personally prefer that the team does this manually so that we don't upload large files to the server.

Currently we don't do lazy loading for images, but I plan to add this in the near future as Google has integrated lazy loading support in Chrome 76 .

There is also a ticket in WordPress core to add this feature to all sites (I really hope this happens soon) so I don't have to write my own plugin.
