Blog networks: what they are and what they are used for

Post by shukla7789 »

A blog network is a set of blogs managed by the same person or entity. They can be blogs with related or unrelated topics. Who would want to have so many blogs? Why? There are good reasons for this, in fact we are finding more and more blog networks on the Internet (a good example of this are websites like uncomo ).

I'll explain to you what this boom is due to.

What are blog networks used for?
There are people who start blogging as a hobby and after a few years they have several sites under their belt. But more often than not, blog networks are part of an online marketing strategy and are used as a source of links or a source of income.

Source of income
Let's see, if I'm earning 200 euros a month from advertising facebook database just one blog, with a network of 10 blogs I could earn 2000 euros a month and quit my office job. Ok, it sounds a bit like the milkmaid's tale and the numbers aren't exact, but it was a simple example so you can understand the basis of using blog networks in this way.

Blog networks are monetized mainly through advertising, affiliate programs or the sale of information products.

Source of links
Backlinks or inbound links are one of the keys to positioning. Sometimes it is so difficult to get links from other websites that some people decide to create a network of blogs to get them from there. You may think it is crazy, after all it does not seem optimal that to position a website you first have to position a network of several blogs, in addition to the fact that you have to be careful so that Google does not penalize you. Of course, if you have enough resources to create that network without stopping dedicating time to your main project, things change.

Can you make a living from a blog network?
Yes, there are people who do it, but it's not easy. It's like writing, there are many who do it but few make a living from it. In this case, blogs have to be successful enough to get advertising revenue. That revenue usually comes from platforms like AdSense or through affiliate marketing.

It is not expensive to have your own blog network, anyone can buy a few domains and host them on a hosting without spending more than 20 euros a month. The problem comes in finding a topic in which you can position yourself and receive enough visits. Then you have to condition all those websites and generate content so that they are positioned and the network is useful. That is where many fail.

If you have enough resources, you can consider hiring someone to write quality content for you. If you prefer to do everything yourself, I recommend that you don't open several blogs at the same time. Start with one, and when you have it well positioned, go for the next one.
