Christmas Day and Its Endless Imitations

Post by fathema022796 »

It's crazy and cringe-worthy. If it came on your radio, it would make eggnog look super attractive. Paul McCartney and A Wonderful Christmas At the beginning of this painful tune, Paul McCartney sings "Today It’s enough for us here late but you know what” sir it’s actually not enough. McCartney is often hailed as one of the greatest songwriters of all time, but this absolute snoozefest proves they can't all be hits.

Although boring and repetitive, A Wonderful Christmas was extremely popular, earning McCartney an estimated $10,000 in royalties each year. That means revenue well in excess of $10,000. Maybe that's enough. The only acceptable version of this song is John Denver and the Muppets' delightful rendition because it's charming, distinctive and funny throughout.

However the song is otherwise boring and long. Not to mention every TV show movie and artist thinks we need to imitate it again. Advertisement images provide spoiler warnings we don't need. These parodies started early, most notably with comedian Faye McKay's video in which she becomes increasingly drunk as she downs a Bloody Mary. Long story short there are too many geese to lay eggs and we don’t need six. We feel the same way about this endless rendition of this Christmas standard.
