The IPR allows you to see the reasons why the desired result is not achieved. When using it, the area of the problem is determined - goods, business processes, promotion work, etc. To determine the direction of the search, a description is also given:
Previous methods. If attempts were made in the past to eliminate the defect, the methods and reasons for failure are listed. For example, subcontracting organizations were used, but the result was low with high financial costs.
Unfulfilled promising ideas. Based on them, you can find a suitable solution.
In some cases, the IPR may include an ideal end result.
In the considered example, the car owner database ICR will be a system in which sellers themselves increase the speed of processing applications to 10-15 minutes. This will allow achieving the necessary conversion in trade.
Search for the causes of contradictions
The search for the causes of contradictions in TRIZ is called cause-conflict analysis (otherwise known as RCA+). With its help, contradictions and benefits are established, due to which they are not eliminated.
To find contradictions, you need to write down the requirements for the system, list all the available resources of the organization, and determine which ones are missing. Example: a company has a small budget for the sales department - it is not able to have more salespeople. This is how a contradiction arises: there is not enough finance, but more sales specialists are needed.
In many cases, the main benefit of companies is savings. Management has no desire to spend additional money, which is why the problem remains. Contradictions can have other reasons.
For example, the manager is convinced that sales specialists are capable of achieving better results, so he is against expanding the department. This creates a technical contradiction: new employees are needed, but the manager is against it, because he believes that this will worsen productivity.
The solution according to the TRIZ method is sought already at the stage of defining contradictions and causes of occurrence. It is often found if the conflict is clearly formulated.
Most problems are solved by identifying contradictions. As a rule, specialists find several options for implementing the task. Preference is given to the most promising or least expensive one.
In the given example, 2 conflicts are established :
more salespeople are needed, but funds are insufficient;
It is necessary to increase the staff of the sales department, but the manager is against it.
As we said earlier, ICR is a system in which employees solve problems on their own.
To determine the ICR, you can make a chatbot with artificial intelligence. Its creation will not require large expenses, unlike expanding the department, but the processing of applications will be significantly accelerated. The program will work with recurring messages, and sellers - with applications that the robot is not able to handle.
Myths about chatbots
Sometimes describing contradictions doesn't help. In such cases, a group of specialists applies 40 innovative techniques for business, which are developed on the basis of Altshuller's techniques.
The task is worked on according to the table with methods, the appropriate ones are selected and used to eliminate the problem. Then ideas are found and analyzed in order to improve the quality of the business. The least expensive or most promising method is also selected, taking into account that it should completely solve the problem.
