The choice and use of WordPress has quickly spread when creating or remodeling a website, whether for an individual or a business. There are many reasons why this is so:
WordPress is a 100% free tool forever.
It is updated quickly when a failure or possible improvement is detected.
It fits fantastically well on tablets and mobile phones .
It is extremely versatile ; you can do almost anything!
It is easily expandable with whatever is needed at any given time.
SEO positioning of WordPress in web search engines, such as Google, is extremely easy and powerful.
Offers integration for almost any CRM, documentation systems, etc.
With a little work, you can protect yourself against any possible virus or malware attack.
Only 1% of websites use Wix
For all these reasons, it is very difficult to justify choosing Wix over a content management system like WordPress these days .
To be completely honest, I have always personally seen Wix as a free website system for beginners , which vp design officers email list may perhaps be of minimal interest to individuals or companies that are starting their presence on the Internet and need something very quick and simple to get started. In that case, I can understand why a company would choose Wix given the simplicity it offers when it comes to creating a website.
The truth is that I must admit that with Wix we don't need to know anything about programming, HTML, CSS, or any other technical subject; the Wix team has done a good job creating an "object-oriented" interface with which we can place what we need, where we need it, simply by selecting it from a menu that is quite intuitive for the "non-expert" user.
But I consider the disadvantages of using Wix far outweigh the advantages and strengths it presents!
Of all of them, let's look at the two biggest drawbacks that I consider to be in using Wix:
Wix is free, but you'll pay dearly for it!
Prices for creating and making your website on Wix are very affordable and Wix offers you to have your website for “free”, but in exchange the website will never be yours, it is theirs! And they will place advertising on your page whose benefits go to them, not to you. In other words, they will use your website to make money .
Not so much if your website is for personal use, but if it is a business website, showing all kinds of advertising on your website gives a very bad image … Imagine what your potential clients will think: Are you not able to make a living with your business? Are you doing so badly that you have to put advertising on your website to earn some money? And let's not even talk about if that advertising you show on your website is from your competition! A disaster!
Of course, Wix offers you the option to remove these ads, but then it is no longer free and you will have to pay an annual fee, at exaggerated prices! Much higher than what it would cost you to have your website with WordPress, which is a really free system so you would only have to pay for the web hosting.
60% of dynamic websites are on WordPress, and growing!
